1. Registration
If you are planning to attend the Conference, please complete the registration form. The deadline for registration is Wed. 30th April. Please click on the following URL to complete and submit the registration form.
https://forms.gle/EXxy5Fcv5ESNgNga7

In the registration form, we ask you to provide information about your schedule and accommodation in Aomori Prefecture and in Hirosaki City. This information is necessary to apply for funding from Aomori Prefecture and Hirosaki City. Please include in your reply the schedule before and after the Conference (sightseeing, etc.).

It also includes registration for the boxed lunch(es) and gala dinner. If you require boxed lunch(es) or wish to attend the gala dinner, we will show you the fees for these. If you are not a member of JSHET, we will show you the participation fee (however, participation is free for presenters in any session with members and for scholars from Hirosaki University). Please confirm these fees on the registration form and in the e-mail sent to you after the registration.

Payment of these fees will be made in advance by bank transfer to the designated bank account or by transfer on the Peatix website. If you use the Peatix website, please make sure that you don’t purchase tickets on the Peatix website that is different from your registration on the registration form. We will show the bank account number and the URL of Peatix website. The deadline for payment is Fri. 2nd May. If you don’t pay by this date, your registration will be automatically cancelled. Cash payment will not be accepted on the days of the Conference.

At the Campus of Conference venue, the cafeteria will be open on the first day and the kiosk will be open on both days, but the capacity will not be sufficient. There are only a few cafeterias or restaurants near the Campus. If you are planning to attend any sessions before and after the lunch break, we recommend that you either bring your own lunch or apply for the boxed lunches. Lunches will be served in Japanese (makunouchi) style. Please note that we cannot accommodate vegetarians, etc.

The gala dinner will be at Hirosaki Park Hotel, which is about 10-minute walk from the Conference venue.

Notes: Users with a United States country setting cannot purchase tickets for events held outside of the United States. To purchase tickets for international events, please update your account’s country setting to the appropriate country.

2. Access
If you are travelling by Shinkansen, please change to the conventional line (JR Ou-u Line) bound for Hirosaki or Odate at Shin-Aomori Station and get off at Hirosaki Station. If you are travelling by plane, please take the airplane bus (Konan Bus) bound for Hirosaki Bus Terminal at Aomori Airport and get off at Hirosaki Station or Hirosaki Bus Terminal (the one-way fare is 1400 yen. Prepaid transportation cards are available). If you want to save on transportation costs to Hirosaki City from the Tokyo area, you can take the highway bus from Tokyo Station, Shinjuku Station, etc.

From Hirosaki Station and Hirosaki Bus Terminal, there are three ways to get to the Conference venue, Hirosaki University (Bunkyo-cho Campus): (1) on foot, (2) by bus, or (3) by taxi.

(1) on foot
The walk takes about 15 minutes. The road is flat, so if the weather is good and you have no problems with your legs, we recommend you walk.

(2) by bus
Take the “Oguriyama-Oinomori Line” or “Gakuen-cho Line” of the Konan Bus from the No.3 bus stop in front of Hirosaki Station or the bus stop near Hirosaki Bus Terminal. Get off near the gate of Hirosaki University (“Hirosaki Daigaku Mae”). The journey takes about 10 minutes and costs 200 yen. Prepaid transportation cards are available.

(3) by taxi
There is a taxi rank in front of Hirosaki Station. There are not many taxis near Hirosaki Bus Terminal and it can be hard to catch one. It takes about 5 minutes and costs less than 1000 yen.

You can also take a taxi from the Conference venue to the gala dinner venue, Hirosaki Park Hotel. However, you may be difficult to find a taxi outside the taxi ranks. If you wish to take a taxi to the gala dinner venue, the hotel, or where you are going, it is best to call a taxi.

・Departure from Hirosaki University after 2nd day of the Conference
The 2nd day’s programme is scheduled to end at 15:30, so participants can take the airport bus that leaves Hirosaki Bus Terminal at 16:50 and Hirosaki Station at 16:51, arriving at Aomori Airport at 17:45 (the timetable as of April 2025). If you take this bus, you can catch a flight departing from Aomori Airport to Itami at 18:40, Komoki at 19:30, Sapporo at 20:15, and Haneda at 20:45. If you are in a hurry, you can use the fixed-fare taxi service provided by Hokusei Kotsu. The fare from Hirosaki City area to Aomori Airport is 8500 yen, so we recommend that you use this service together with some friends.
